Aimpoint launches the 4th generation
of CompM sights
February 2007 In 2006, the US Army ran a series of competitive tests to determine if there was another sight available that performed better than their existing Aimpoint CompM2s. When the testing was completed, an Aimpoint sight was once again proven to be the best available. That sight, the Aimpoint CompM4, has been standardized as the Armys new M68CCO and is now available in the North American market. The US Army has recently awarded Aimpoint with a contract for 163,000 of these sights.
The electronic components in the CompM4 improve upon Aimpoints existing state-of-the-art ACET diode circuitry, allowing this new sight to run constantly for over 8 years on a single AA battery. The CompM4 features an internal voltage regulator that allows the sight to operate on any AA size battery available worldwide.

SWAT Round-UP 2005 - RESULTS
November 29th
SWAT Round-Up International 2005 is now over and we at Aimpoint congratulate "TEAM SWEDEN" for its excellent performance.
3rd place overall and the best international team is TEAM SWEDENs best finish since its first participation.
" Our goal was to be in the top five and to be the best international team" says Thomas Forström, one of the team members.
"We knew we could do it, but it is a highly challenging competition and small errors can be fatal. Many teams present at the SWAT Round-up are teams which have been trained especially for that competition and this makes our 3rd place an even better achievement. We are proud of our results even if we could have done even better. Margins are extremely narrow" says Thomas.
"TEAM SWEDEN is sponsored by Aimpoint and we want to take the opportunity to thank Aimpoint for their support and for a fantastic product, which makes the difference for us, both in competition and on duty" adds Thomas.
The other Swedish Team present at the SWAT Round-up, "Piketen Stockholm" finished in 22nd place because of an error in the first event.
The first overall place went to Orlando Police Department Gold (FL).
For all the results, go to:
http://www.swatroundup.org
Thomas Forströms hela uttalande på svenska kan läsas
i "Swedish Corner" (Du hittar det i högra spalten).

The new sights are called Aimpoint CompM3 and Aimpoint CompML3. The difference between these two models is that the Aimpoint CompM3 is compatible with all generations of Night Vision Goggles.
The new series of sights have several improvements in comparison with present sights. The new sights are even more rugged than the previous generation and with the new ACET technology follows the possibility to choose from two fixed sizes of the red dot 4 Minutes of an Angle (MOA) or 2 MOA. 30 years of experience shows that the 4 MOA dot provides the best combination of accuracy and speed, whereas the smaller 2 MOA dot puts accuracy before speed.

Aimpoint continues US Army supply
June 2004
Aimpoint AB is pleased and proud to announce that
the US Army has once again selected the CompM2 (M68) passive Red Dot Sight
system from Aimpoint AB to go with their M4 carbines and their M16 rifles.
The order is for almost 70,000 Red Dot Sights to be supplied over the coming
10 months. The order is an amendment to current contracts with the US
Army, within which Aimpoint has previously supplied near 200,000 M68
sights.
This contract with the US Army is the largest single order
for small arms optical sights in the world. Aimpoint AB, a part of the
Swedish GS-Development Group, has previously won similarly large contracts
to supply the French Army, the Swedish Army, the Italian Army and
continues to supply Special Forces and Law Enforcement world wide.
Since 1997, we have monthly delivered an important amount of sights to
the US Army. Being and remaining a supplier to the US Army year after year
is a sign that Aimpoint is a reliable company, maintaining its position at
the fore front of the technology with high quality products and delivery
precision. And it is our intention to continue in this way as a reliable
supplier to dedicated professionals., says Lennart Ljungfelt at Aimpoint

Aimpoint Awarded Italian Military Contract
Early 2004
The Italian Ministry of Defense has concluded
procurement, in international competition, of an optical sight and awarded
the Swedish company Aimpoint AB a contract to supply a passive Red Dot
Sight system to the Italian Army.
The contract is for at least
24.000 Red Dot Sights, CompM2 ACIES, to be supplied over a two and a half
year period between 2004 and 2006. The award to Aimpoint is a result of
rigorous testing and evaluations by the Italian authorities to define and
procure the best suitable aiming device in order to improve the
capabilities of the Italian soldier.
This contract with the
Italian MoD is one of the largest single contracts for small arms optical
sights in the world, says Lennart Ljungfelt, president of Aimpoint AB.
The first large military procurement of Aimpoint sights was by the US Army.
Following nearly two years of extensive laboratory and field testing of
available sighting devices, Aimpoint was awarded a contract in 1997. Since
that time, the M68 sight has been continuously improved and Aimpoint has
delivered over 150.000 of these sights to US military forces.
Aimpoint
continues to receive additional orders as new units are equipped.
In late 2002, Aimpoint was awarded a contract to deliver at least 50.000
sights to the Swedish Defense Forces during 2004 and 2005.
Aimpoint
sights were originally developed for use by hunters, and the same
qualities that make these sights excellent hunting tools make them the
best choice for military small arms applications. Aimpoint sights are
extremely rugged, weatherproof and allow fast, accurate aiming.

Aimpoint AB Awarded Swedish Military Contract
May 2002
The Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) has concluded three years of trials and evaluations of numerous optical sights for small arms from manufacturers all over the world, and consequently has awarded a commission to supply a passive Red Dot Sight system to Aimpoint AB. The commission is for at least 60,000 Red Dot Sights to be supplied over a three year period between 2003 and 2005. The award to Aimpoint AB is a result of vigorous testing and evaluations by the Swedish authorities to define and procure the best suitable aiming sight designated to improve the low light target acquisition and increase further the accuracy of the Swedish soldier under low light conditions. This contract with FMV is one of the largest single contracts for small arms optical sights in the world.
"Aimpoint has been awarded this contract in open competition in accordance with the Swedish Public Procurement Act. In the evaluation process, Aimpoint has not had any advantage whatsoever from the fact that it is a Swedish company. The contract was awarded to Aimpoint thanks to a very high technical competence within the company, a sharp ear towards FMV's requirements and last but not least thanks to a very well trimmed and cost conscious organisation which allowed for Aimpoint's quotation to be the most beneficial for FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces" says Carl Söderquist, Project Manager at FMV.
