A fully integrated mounting interface for pistol optics

The COA™ features the A-CUT interface, Aimpoint’s proprietary mounting system that integrates the optic directly into the pistol slide via a full-length dovetail, secured by a front hook and a rear wedge. The result is a stable and repeatable mounting solution, with no screws passing through the optic housing.

Because the optic sits exceptionally low on the slide, A-CUT enables co-witness with factory iron sights for fast, instinctive target acquisition.

COA was developed in close cooperation with Glock as a fully integrated, slide-mounted optic solution and was initially offered exclusively on Glock pistols. Aimpoint is now expanding the COA platform and the A-CUT interface to the broader market through licensed OEM solutions.

A-CUT licensing for manufacturers 

Manufacturers interested in integrating the A-CUT interface into their pistol platforms can apply for an A-CUT license, enabling factory integration of a mounting solution developed specifically for modern pistol optics.

How to use COA™

Adjust brightness 
Press the increase or decrease button to toggle between settings 1–12. Use settings 1–4 with night vision devices and 5–12 for daylight conditions. The buttons are designed for reliable use, even while wearing gloves. 

Elevation adjustment
Use a T10 Torx tool to adjust elevation. 

Windage adjustment
Use a T10 Torx tool to adjust windage. 

Battery replacement
Open the side-mounted battery tray, replace the battery and close securely. The optic does not need to be removed from the pistol.

Faster, smarter pistol shooting

A red dot sight on a pistol gives you the upper hand through both-eyes-open aiming, faster target acquisition, and improved situational awareness. It removes the need to align iron sights, keeping your focus on the threat for more accurate shots under pressure.

New COA™ / A-CUT™ pistol partnerships coming soon

Aimpoint is expanding the availability of COA pistol optics and the A-CUT mounting interface through licensed OEM partnerships. Agreements have been signed with original equipment manufacturers, representing many of the world’s leading pistol brands, covering over eighty percent of the U.S. pistol market, and that is just the beginning. Throughout 2026, additional factory-integrated pistol and COA packages will be introduced.

How to mount an Aimpoint™ COA™ sight on a pistol with A-CUT™

Position the COA sight 
Place the COA optic into the A-CUT interface on the slide. The interface secures the optic and prevents movement. 

Secure the COA sight 
Use the supplied screws and torque them to the recommended specification. 

Verify alignment 
Confirm that the sight is seated correctly and co-witnesses with the iron sights. The pistol is now ready to be zeroed.
