Aimpoint included in new duty pistol system for Canadian national police agency
Malmö, Sweden, April 29 2026. Aimpoint, the inventor of the red dot sight, is part of a newly awarded contract to supply the Canadian Federal Police with a modern duty pistol system. The contract, awarded to Canadian distributor Rampart Corp. following a competitive procurement process led by Public Services and Procurement Canada, has a total value of approximately CAD 39 million.
Rampart Corp. is the authorized distributor for both Aimpoint and GLOCK in Canada.
The new system is based on the GLOCK 45 MOS 7 platform and includes the Aimpoint® Acro™ P-2 red dot sight, along with a weapon light and duty holster. Once fielded, the system is expected to be deployed across a large portion of Canadian law enforcement personnel.
Designed for professional use in demanding environments, the enclosed ACRO P-2 offers a robust and reliable aiming solution that enables fast target acquisition and increased accuracy in a wide range of operational scenarios.

The selection of a red dot sight as part of a standard-issue duty pistol system reflects a continued shift within law enforcement toward optics-based aiming solutions. By enabling shooting with both eyes open and maintaining full situational awareness, red dot sights contribute to improved performance in high-pressure situations. This also supports safer decision-making, as officers can better assess their surroundings and identify potential threats before and during an engagement.
By simplifying the aiming process and providing a clear point of focus, red dot sights can also accelerate skill development during training, enabling users to reach a higher level of proficiency in less time.
