Product description
Aimpoint’s best seller, the Aimpoint® 3000, was introduced in 1989. A red dot sight that quickly gained popularity among shooters in different application areas. This sight model was produced for more than a decade, which was the longest production run of any AIMPOINT red dot sight model when it was discontinued in 2003.
Aimpoint developed the 3000 sight model for shooters requiring their sight to be light weight, compact and have a large field of view. The AIMPOINT 3000 was designed to withstand the recoil from the heaviest calibers. It came in two different lengths to accommodate a wide range of weapon platforms, a shorter version for pistols and a longer version for rifles and shotguns.
This upgraded AIMPOINT 3000 featured the manual rotary switch light adjustment and had a smaller battery compartment than previous models. Like the 2000 model, it was designed with a standard 1” (25.4mm) tube and mounted in the usual way with two 1” rings.
The AIMPOINT 3000 sight model t was available in two colors: black and stainless steel and came with a pair of 1-inch rings in the same color as the optic.
The AIMPOINT 3000 sight served with elite forces during Operation Desert Storm and was awarded Optical Product of the Year in both the US and France.
