Aimpoint takes part in Almedalen

During Almedalen Week 2026, Aimpoint will take part in the political conversation in Visby for the first time.

Aimpoint CEO Per Lovatt will take part in the discussions during Almedalen Week.

Almedalen Week is Sweden’s leading political meeting place, bringing together politicians, public authorities, organizations, businesses and civil society for dialogue on some of the most important issues facing the country. In a changing security environment, questions around defense capability, resilience and industrial capacity have become increasingly important.

During the week, Aimpoint will host two roundtable discussions. One will focus on innovation and how new technology, industrial capability and close cooperation can help strengthen Sweden’s defense capability. The other will focus on total defense, with particular emphasis on Sweden’s security of supply, resilience and the long-term conditions for domestic production.

The discussions will bring together representatives from government, parliament, public authorities, research and the defense industry. The purpose is to contribute to an open and fact-based dialogue on how Sweden can strengthen its total defense capability through innovation, expertise and long-term investments.

For Aimpoint, these issues are closely connected to our role as a Swedish technology company with 50 years of development and production in Sweden. At a time when control over supply chains, technological development and the ability to meet new operational needs are becoming increasingly important, we want to contribute our perspectives and experience.

We believe that stronger dialogue between politics, public authorities, research and industry is essential if Sweden is to turn needs into real capability. By bringing together different perspectives, we can increase understanding of each other’s challenges, reduce obstacles and create better conditions for the Swedish defense industry to contribute to the development of total defense.

Aimpoint’s participation in Almedalen is part of our long-term commitment to contributing to the conversation on innovation, industrial capability and a stronger Swedish total defense.
